What services does Kotenkoff Granite offer?
We fabricate and install custom stone countertops, vanity tops, fireplace surrounds, shower surrounds, edge profiles, trims and thresholds, and commercial stone installations. Our work covers granite, quartz, quartzite, marble, porcelain, and large-format tile, with in-house WaterJet and CNC fabrication for custom designs, inlays, and intricate cuts. We handle every project end-to-end — consultation, slab selection, digital templating, fabrication, and installation.
What areas do you serve?
We’re based in Fresno and serve Fresno County, Madera County, and the surrounding Central Valley — including Clovis, Visalia, Reedley, and Selma. For projects outside this radius, call us to discuss whether your project fits.
How long does the countertop installation process take?
Most residential projects take two to four weeks from initial consultation to final installation. Slab selection, fabrication complexity, and scheduling all play a role. Complex custom WaterJet work or large commercial jobs may take longer; we’ll walk you through your timeline at the consultation.
Do I need to pick my slab in person?
For natural stone — granite and marble — we strongly recommend it. Every slab is different, and photos rarely do them justice. For engineered stone like quartz, in-person selection is helpful but less critical because the patterns are consistent across the slab.
Do you work with contractors and designers?
Yes. A meaningful portion of our work runs through general contractors, kitchen and bath designers, and interior designers. We adapt to your project workflow and can coordinate directly with your team.
Do you handle commercial projects?
Yes. We’re insured and experienced for commercial work — restaurants, offices, retail, hospitality, and tenant improvements. We’ve fabricated and installed countertops, reception desks, restroom vanities, and large-format installations for commercial clients throughout the Central Valley.
What’s the difference between granite, quartz, and marble countertops?
Granite is natural stone — durable, heat-resistant, with natural variation in every slab; needs annual sealing. Quartz is engineered stone — uniform, non-porous, never needs sealing, but slightly less heat-resistant than granite. Marble is natural stone with a softer surface and distinctive veining — ideal for bathrooms and lower-traffic spaces, but it etches when it meets acidic liquids. Come into the showroom and we’ll walk you through the comparison in person.
What’s the difference between quartz and quartzite?
The names sound nearly identical, but the materials are very different. Quartz is engineered stone — a manufactured product made by binding crushed quartz with resin. The pattern is consistent across the slab, it’s non-porous, and it doesn’t need sealing. Quartzite is natural stone, formed from sandstone under heat and pressure. It’s harder than granite, has the kind of flowing veining people associate with marble, and needs sealing about once a year. If you want low-maintenance and visual consistency, choose quartz. If you want natural stone with the look of marble and the durability of granite, choose quartzite.
Do you offer free consultations?
Yes. Initial consultations are free and come with no obligation. Bring photos, sketches, Pinterest boards, or just an idea — we’ll talk through your options.
